Welcoming the New Normal
Are you already tired of hearing the term ‘the new normal’? Or are you excited? Well, either way, it’s coming to us and we’re gonna talk about it some more. It is called ‘new’ because it won’t be completely the same as before. Some restrictions will be lifted but there will be a set of new rules we are to follow.
The new normal will (or hopes to) see a world where face masks, physical distancing, and large-scale testing and tracing are customary. Some things will never go back to the way it used to be and we will have to adapt, as human beings and as businesses. This makes the gradual start-up of the economy particularly difficult to navigate for businesses, which have a great many issues to consider.
Human contact will be minimized. Although not eliminated; it will drive a lot of business to shift their strategies. In effect, Indonesia will see the rise of digital marketing and business models. A lot of businesses will strengthen their digital activation and services.
Is your digital presence strong enough? Many businesses in Surabaya were finding it hard to expand to the digital world. This is because many are still family-based, old-fashioned, traditional businesses. However, during this pandemic, a lot are forced to go digital. Some failed terribly, some are thriving.
It is indeed a great challenge for us working in the branding industry assisting businesses roll back up. We at FULLSTOP have been getting ready as we go. Yes, it is a tough time, but we choose to look at it as a challenge and an awakening for Indonesian branding industry to finally welcome and embrace the digital era, to finally catch up with the rest of the world.
