Speaking of my job in FULLSTOP Indonesia, as a motion editor, I often get graphic animation requests from the brands. Nowadays, especially in digital branding era, creating a memorable content which can stick in everyone’s mind can be really challenging. They say that pictures speak louder than words, but remember: motion graphics deliver message even more effectively, because it is moving, it simply has the power to attract costumer’s attention.

So, first things first, I am going to explain about ‘motion graphic’ or ‘animation’ itself. Whenever someone hears the word "animation", people usually will think about their favorite movie or even their favorite cartoons. We all have some kind of fond memories or personal opinions about it, but have you ever wondered why it is so memorable? Or why it is so powerful compared to another media, especially when it comes to advertising in digital branding?

  1. Animation catches attention.

A good animation will always pique your interest. The point of making a good animation is the capability to grow the curiosity of its viewer. The content or the duration of animation isn't actually the first utmost importance. It's all about taking the first glance and subconsciously having your eyes wander and anticipating for more to come. So let’s take its advantage. For example, if you have a food and beverages product, you always can use animation to show your product’s features in a far more interesting way.

  1. Animation gives out stories.

Audio-visual advertising (more specifically: an animation) content can tell your brand stories better than the others. Whether it's a light hearted slice-of-life stories, a heart-wrenching tragedy or simply an advertising you see on random billboards; it always serves a purpose of communicating stories, ideas, propaganda or even to create stories that invoke a reaction. You can use animation to accommodate your brand campaign, which include some narrative or story in order to lead people to follow your campaign.

  1. Animation breathes out "life"

Although people often mistook it as something only professional can produce; animation is actually a very relatable and common part of our lives. Today, anyone can actually pick up their favorite medium and show their ideas to the world through animation. Whether it's a simple flipbook doodles, a short Tik-Tok video, or even a meme sequence; it can be funny, sad, playful, and even serious. The point is to be interesting. You can take advantages in the flexibility of animation content into your brand. Just say you have a brand that sells healthy food. You can make some cute doodles to attract kids or younger customer. You can join TikTok to make a viral video so it steals people’s heart. Or simply you can create a simple GIF to response your customer’s message in WhatsApp. Everything is possible when it comes to animation, because as I said before: it’s very relatable and it is a part of our lives with or without us being aware of it.

So, are you ready to utilize animation to make your brand bigger and even more well-known?
